Embryo DonationEmbryo donation involves using embryos that already exist and are in storage in a reproductive medicine unit. The embryos have been created using IVF techniques and are in excess to the needs of the couple who created them. The embryo is transferred to the uterus of the female recipient at the correct time of the menstrual cycle. If a pregnancy is achieved the child is not genetically related to either the male or female recipient. Currently Repromed is not adding any further patients to the waiting list for embryos due to lack of embryos for donation. If you are a couple who would like to consider donating your frozen embryos please contact our Donor Co-ordinators on (08) 8333 8111 for more information. Note: Embryos cannot be created specifically for the purpose of donation. |
